Here is some additional low light canon HG10 High Definition footage.
Movie Link
You can see the original outdoor footage here
The file has the same scene encoded at different bit rates.
The sharebig website said that the file will go away if it is not downloaded for seven days, if the link does not work leave feedback and I will put it on the site again.

hey, thanks for posting the hg10 samples!
i can appreciate the work involved.
i am shopping for my 3rd hd camcorder as my 1st, the sony hc1 is dying and my sony hc3 needs another partner for "additional footage"
quick question.
can the 1920x1080 recorded by the hg10 be copied or loaded onto computer without that 1440x1080 compression?
thanks!
paul
Paul,
Sorry I didn't see your question earlier.
Yes, you edit the 1920x1080 files in your editing program.
Someone requested that I post the raw AVHCD files, & I will do that shortly. Is that what you wanted to see?
I bought a DM-50 microphone and a WD-H43 lense...I will have sample audio & video soon.

matt,
i got the hg10 as well before before Xmas
took a bunch of music recital and around nyc night stuff and the canon is mostly better than my sony hc1 and hc3.
while the video is pristine when connected directly to a 1080p hdtv via HDMI, the iMovie 2008 version isn't as sharp
for the time being before i get my copy of final cut studio 2, i copied the "MTS" files off the canon hg10 drive from the "stream" directory onto my computer.
i have since played those native "MTS" files using nero ultra 8's showtime directly with a windows PC, but it hangs sometimes and when it runs, does look almost as good as the direct HDMI canon hg10 to 1080p HDTV route.
so far, no direct play with my Macs with those "MTS" native files.

Hi Paul,
I use CoreAVC v1.5 decoder to playback HG10 files from my computer and it works really well. Have a read at my blog if you are interested.
